![]() ![]() Your goal is to unlock the achievement for 50 tanks dug up. Whatever catches your fancy, plus you will need the cash when you finally get your Maus. Something that I have found to pass the time between dig contracts is renovating a tank that you dug up or that is in the scrap yard. I know that it gets annoying, but you need to keep digging them up. Even if you already have or have finished the tank, dig it up and take it to the shop. This is the tank that appears in the main menu, albeit a darker version. In this guide, I will explain the steps I followed to find the Maus.ĭig up the buried tanks every time they come to the computer/tablet.It consists of the reassembled tub of the 205/1 and the tower of the 205/2. However, today you can visit a tank car "MAUS" in the tank museum Kubinka, Russia. Shortly before the Kummersdorf test site was conquered, the two vehicles were blown up. The two prototypes of the Panzerkampfwagen “MAUS” partially survived the end of the war. Although a production of 160 units had been planned, the number produced was limited to 2 prototypes due to historical events, but more (3 units) were under construction. After the completion of the 205/2, it was found that the driving characteristics of the "MAUS" had improved due to the stronger engine. In order to distinguish between the two prototypes, the former were designated as 205/1 and the second as 205/2. For the second prototype, a new, more powerful diesel engine, the 12-cylinder DAIMLER-BENZ MB 517, was developed and manufactured. Another prototype was already under construction. Instead, the 12.8 cm KwK 44 L / 55 with 68 grenade cartridges provided the main armament. However, this turret with a mass of around 50 tons was not equipped with the originally designed main armament. In the meantime, the first prototype was completed with the turret manufactured by KRUPP (April 1944). The prototype without a tower was sent to the Kummersdorf military test site (near Berlin) in order to carry out the first test runs with a weight that was based on the planned tower. At the end of December 1943, the prototype (tub, drive, etc.) was ready for use - the tower was still a long way off. The company ALKETT received the order to create a prototype, the order for the armed tower went to KRUPP. After it had been determined that armor thicknesses of up to 250 mm would also require a corresponding total vehicle weight of up to 188 tons, Porsche redesigned its design in such a way that rivers of up to 8 m could be submerged because no bridge was able to do so To carry such a vehicle. The staggered arrangement of the rollers created the "nesting effect" common for German armored vehicles. The drive itself consisted of roller carriages attached to truncated cone springs, each of which was carried by 4 rollers. ![]() In order to keep the ground pressure of a vehicle, which should weigh 188 tons, within reasonable limits, the chain on each side of the vehicle had a width of 1,100 mm. This eliminated the need for mechanical parts such as a manual transmission or clutch, which should reduce maintenance. The two electric motors in turn drove the armored vehicle. A 12 cylinder DAIMLER-BENZ 509 with 1080 PS (petrol engine) gave its power via an intermediate gear to a downstream generator, which in turn supplied energy for 2 electric motors. For the drive, Porsche used the concept of the petrol-electric drive, which was also used in the tank destroyer "FERDINAND" / "ELEFANT" (Sd. The turret armament should consist of a 15 cm KwK 44 L / 38 and a 1x 7.5 cm KwK 44 L / 36.5. ![]() With a total weight of 188 tons, not only should a “heavyweight” enter the stage, but also a maximum of armor protection of up to 250 mm (this strength could only be achieved later on the German side by the “Jagdtiger”). And the design envisioned an enormous tank, the likes of which the world had never seen before. The Hitler himself made the decision to build such a vehicle and described the heavy tank to be created as "Maus". Until January 1943, Porsche created a corresponding design, which was also built as a model. However, on the German side there was still a desire to build a heavier tank and on June 8, 1942, Adolf Hitler gave Ferdinand Porsche the verbal order to construct a heavier battle tank. ![]() Various drawing board projects were set up, but they were not built. The origin of the "Maus" is right at the beginning of the 1940s, when different states (Russia, England) planned different, heavier tank projects, including Germany. The Panzerkampfwagen “Maus” was / is the heaviest tank ever made in the world. ![]()

![]() Britain’s franchise was gradually extended from 1830 and it was only in 1918 that women were given the right to vote. Countries such as the UK and the US were not true democracies until relatively recently. John Deweyīut democracy is a process, not a state. The cure for the ills of democracy is more democracy. Liberal democracy, in theory at least, provides a mechanism for some form of rule by proportionate representation, with citizens empowered to bring about change through participation and persuade the powerful to act for the greater good. Why democracy is the best form of government But most authoritarian systems are hampered by structural weaknesses: large, disenfranchised minority groups foster a sense of injustice reliance on ‘strongmen’ figures makes the transfer of power potentially violent and vested interests are protected from popular demands for change. ![]() More recently, non-democratic, authoritarian governments such as China have been praised for enduring the COVID-19 pandemic better than democracies, because they are better able to compel specific behaviour from citizens without concern for individual liberties, or dissent from a free press.Īll this may question the need for democracy. Meanwhile, over the last 30-50 years, a more technocratic, uniform form of politics has taken hold in the European Union (EU), where democracy is arguably less responsive to citizens and large elements of the population feel excluded from the process of government. Some question the value of the popular vote when it leads to seismic shifts such as Brexit, and the election of demagogues who threaten liberal values.Įven the American system, for a long time the exemplar of democratic freedoms, seems so polarized that it is in danger of becoming impotent, its ability to endure technological, demographic, and cultural change in doubt. This question is being asked a lot more as democracy is threatened by various forces around the world. Henry Kissinger on t he future of liberal democraciesĪrguably the importance of liberal democracy is two-fold: no other system of government guarantees the right to free expression of political preference and no other system promotes progress through peaceful competition between different interests and ideas. The guarantees of liberal democracy are intended to ensure no ethnic, geographic, class, or business interest dominates or exploits others to an unreasonable degree, and that there is fair and universal consent gained for government policies. Certain nations today have illiberal democracies where voting continues but liberal characteristics, such as an independent judiciary and free press, have been compromised.ĭefenders of liberal democracy say this actually makes these societies inherently undemocratic, as stripping away liberal guarantees leads to intimidation and coercion by the state, undermining elections. ![]() In fact, democracy does not necessarily have to be liberal. ![]() Crucially these essential freedoms are not subject to a democratic vote. In Europe and the English-speaking world it is often assumed democracy naturally takes the form of liberal democracy – popular sovereignty but limited by a constitution which guarantees individual freedoms (such as speech) and rights (such as to a fair trial). Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard. ![]() ![]() ![]() There's a computer store on the ground floor where once there were a pharmacy, a supermarket, and a video store. The narrator, Michael Berg, tells the story of his teenage affair with a former Nazi prison guard and its aftermath. But my mother simply assumed that as soon as I was better, I would use my pocket money to buy some flowers, go introduce myself, and say thank you, which was why at the end of February I found myself heading for Bahnhofstrasse. If it hadn't been for that, I don't think I would have gone to see her. At some point I told my mother about the woman. That same day my mother called in the doctor, who diagnosed hepatitis. Up above there were lines strung from window to window, loaded with laundry. The woman seized my arm and pulled me through the dark entryway into the courtyard. When rescue came, it was almost an assault. I leaned against the wall of the building, looked down at the vomit around my feet, and retched something clear and sticky. My mouth was suddenly full, I tried to swallow everything down again, and clenched my teeth with my hand in front of my mouth, but it all burst out of my mouth anyway straight through my fingers. Let's say game started to cheat and seconds moved faster than real time (I counted xd) and sometimes slower. This because when you start new game all slots are empty, but during first race they are filled.Īlso I discovered something repatable on several machines after years, of course first noticed this on In Cold Blood. This works in any following groups, to get +1 more than needed for all. xdĪPO for first group is locked on 5/5/5 but you can override additional slot, if you pick up any next one it can actually reduce slot. What is cause of this? Need to play like machine to the miliseconds of every part rendered? Result should be equal to my skill and how I drive not to some random stuff. Still playing the same way with the same time left between checkpoints. I repeated that damn In Cold Blood 95 times on Normal thinking by logic that car with best speed and handling will be perfect but no. I can't imagine doing it on hard if I want harder and satisfying vehicular combat on new fun maps but I am blocked and turned down with unplayable missions with time limits out of reality, in way they are random than challenging. on Normal difficulty you had barely 15 seconds lasting to finish all laps on Boulder Dash, 10 on In Cold Blood and 7~2 to hit last object In Eye of Beaver. They were luck based, not related to skill because anything could happen during mission and you needed to be perfectly perfect with no mistakes or delay else - restart. No missions in classic modes this time, only separate Challenges mode. Not by design of environment or task to do but mostly because they were not made or balanced for difficulties other than Easy, just simply late implementation and added less time on harder difficulties without proper testing. ![]() ![]() ![]() The first tractors were steam-powered plowing engines. It was widely adopted for agricultural use. The first half of the 1860s was a period of great experimentation but by the end of the decade the standard form of the traction engine had evolved and changed little over the next sixty years. The alteration was made by fitting a long driving chain between the crankshaft and the rear axle. The first proper traction engine, in the form recognisable today, was developed in 1859 when British engineer Thomas Aveling modified a Clayton & Shuttleworth portable engine, which had to be hauled from job to job by horses, into a self-propelled one. ![]() These experiments met with mixed success. In most cases this was achieved by fitting a sprocket on the end of the crankshaft, and running a chain from this to a larger sprocket on the rear axle. ![]() In parallel with the early portable engine development, many engineers attempted to make them self-propelled – the fore-runners of the traction engine. In the 1850s, John Fowler used a Clayton & Shuttleworth portable engine to drive apparatus in the first public demonstrations of the application of cable haulage to cultivation. A large flywheel was mounted on the crankshaft, and a stout leather belt was used to transfer the drive to the equipment being driven. The truly portable engine was invented in 1893 by William Tuxford of Boston, Lincolnshire who started manufacture of an engine built around a locomotive-style boiler with horizontal smoke tubes. Richard Trevithick designed the first 'semi-portable' stationary steam engine for agricultural use, known as a "barn engine" in 1812, and it was used to drive a corn threshing machine. The first powered farm implements in the early 19th century were portable engines – steam engines on wheels that could be used to drive mechanical farm machinery by way of a flexible belt. In Canada and the US, the word may also refer to the road tractor portion of a tractor trailer truck, but also usually refers to the piece of farm equipment.ġ882 Harrison Machine Works steam-powered traction engine In the UK, Ireland, Australia, India, Spain, Argentina, Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia, the Netherlands, and Germany, the word "tractor" usually means "farm tractor", and the use of the word "tractor" to mean other types of vehicles is familiar to the vehicle trade, but unfamiliar to much of the general public. The first recorded use of the word meaning "an engine or vehicle for pulling wagons or plows" occurred in 1896, from the earlier term " traction motor" (1859). The word tractor was taken from Latin, being the agent noun of trahere "to pull". Agricultural implements may be towed behind or mounted on the tractor, and the tractor may also provide a source of power if the implement is mechanised. Most commonly, the term is used to describe a farm vehicle that provides the power and traction to mechanize agricultural tasks, especially (and originally) tillage, and now many more. Agricultural tractors-per-100-square-kilometres-of-arable-land Ī tractor is an engineering vehicle specifically designed to deliver a high tractive effort (or torque) at slow speeds, for the purposes of hauling a trailer or machinery such as that used in agriculture, mining or construction. ![]() |
